City 2/3 in our #lunarnewyear travels was Chengdu! 🐼🌶️🎭
Chengdu has many local trademarks, which makes it a great city for exploration! When in Chengdu, every tourist should make time to:
1. See the pandas! 🐼🎋
2. Watch a face-changing performance at a tea house🍵🎭
3. Try Sichuan’s spicy cuisine, more specifically, hotpot!!! 🥘🌶️🔥
Our mouths were burning from the spicy flavors (you can see a photo of how RED the broth is from all of the peppers and spicy oil!) we had to buy several cups of milk tea 🧋 to get us through the meal. 😅
Face changing shows are a big part of local culture, and so entertaining! It’s kind of like a kung-fu meets magic show, where the performer will change his opera mask in the literal blink of an eye! 🪄🦹🏻🔮🎭
The panda park was also super interesting and educational. It was really cool to learn about how they are protecting this endangered species. 🐼
Last (but not least!!) the Leshan Big Buddha. Built over 1200 years ago, this magnificent sculpture hand crafted by dedicated Buddhist monks was breathtaking to say the least. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage site, man-made marvel, and something you should definitely put on your bucket list!!
If you get the chance to go to Chengdu, GO!! 😆 We loved this city, and definitely plan to return.❤️
