Standing on the lakeshore at an altitude of 4,718 meters, the wind arrives earlier than the sight.
The snow line of Nyainqentanglha is looming between the clouds, and the blue of Namtso Lake is beyond your breath - it is the clarity that shatters the entire sky, and the silence of millions of years of glacial meltwater. Even the Mani piles on the shore have learned to be silent in this blue, leaving only the prayer flags fluttering in the lake breeze into flowing poetry.
🌅 When the first ray of light cuts through day and night
The lake wakes up in the morning mist, and the blue-gray gradually turns into golden red.
The sound of ice cracking came from the center of the lake, as if the earth was stretching its muscles; when migratory birds flew over the water, their reflections were rubbed into tiny stars by the ripples. The herdsmen's wooden oars paddled across the silky surface of the lake, and the morning light of the entire plateau was hidden in the startled water droplets. At sunset, the clouds are dyed into ochre-red prayer flags, and their shadows cast on the lake sway with the waves, as if the gods have written words that have not yet dried on the water.
