Tibet, your heart won’t be at ease if you don’t go in this lifetime! This guide will take you on an exciting trip to Tibet.
Who understands, family! Tibet is like a huge magnetic field; once you get close, you’ll be deeply attracted. Those who have been there can’t stop thinking about it, and those who haven’t are longing for it day and night. If you also yearn for that mysterious and sacred plateau, this super practical Tibet travel guide is a must-save!
No Confusion in Early Preparation
Documents💾
You must carry your ID card; it’s your “passport” for travel. If you plan to visit border areas like Mount Everest or Ngari, you’ll need to get a border pass in advance. You can get it at the local police station where your household is registered or ask a travel agency in Lhasa to help you handle it.
Clothing🧥
Tibet’s weather is like a child’s face—changing quickly, with huge temperature differences between day and night. No matter when you go, bring a thick jacket; down jackets and windbreakers are “life-saving tools.” If you go in summer, bring light clothes but don’t forget long-sleeve shirts because the UV rays are very strong. Choose comfortable sneakers or hiking boots to avoid tired feet.
Medicines💊
Prepare altitude sickness medicine in advance, such as Rhodiola and Altitude Sickness Relief, starting a week before. Also pack cold medicine, fever reducers, stomach medicine, and motion sickness pills—better safe than sorry.
Other Items🛍️
Sunscreen must be SPF 50 or higher; the sun in Tibet is very “enthusiastic.” Don’t forget sunglasses and hats—they protect you from the sun and add style. Bring moisturizing skincare products and a thermos cup to keep your skin hydrated and water handy.

Helpful Tips
● Don’t Panic About Altitude Sickness: When you first arrive in Tibet, don’t jump around or take long showers; avoid catching a cold, which can worsen altitude sickness. If you have mild symptoms, don’t be afraid—rest and drink plenty of water. If severe, go to the hospital immediately.
● Respect the Culture: Tibet has unique religious and cultural customs. Respect local customs and beliefs. Don’t take photos casually in temples, and don’t step on prayer flags.
● Transportation Choices: Public transport in Lhasa is fairly convenient, but for remote spots, renting a car or joining a tour group is safer and more worry-free.
