I flew to Lugu Lake just for this view, and it was worth it!

After days of travel, we chose Lugu Lake as our retreat—a place where time slows and the water mirrors the sky. Our first stop was Li Ge Peninsula, often called the soul of Lugu Lake. Most guesthouses sat just steps from the shore, and within minutes of dropping our bags, we were by the water. The off-season meant few crowds, but the beauty was undiminished:traditional wooden "pig-trough boats"dotted the lake, their reflections blending with the sapphire expanse.
Walking further, we explored the peninsula itself, now lined with shuttered inns and cafés—closed to protect the lake from pollution. The commitment to preserving Lugu’s purity moved us; perhaps this is why its waters remain so startlingly clear. On the way back, a narrow uphill path led us to the Li Ge Viewing Platform.Though the climb required care (no handrails, just steep steps), the reward was the iconic postcard vista:the peninsula curled like an emerald ribbon against the lake. No mirror-like reflections under the midday sun, but the scene was still a masterpiece of nature, proof that Lugu’s charm needs no filter.
