Beneath the vaulted halls of Liverpool’s venerable World Museum — a splendid cornucopia of time, nature, and human wonder — the air hums with curiosity. This bastion of knowledge, born in 1851 from the Derby Collection, now unfolds infinitely richer stories across archaeology, ethnology, natural science and the cosmos, complete with a beguiling planetarium and the interactive delights of the Clore Natural History Centre.
At present, the immersive marvel Bees: A Story of Survival is casting its spell. Crafted by Wolfgang Buttress Studio in collaboration with National Museums Liverpool, this exhibition weaves art and science into a sensory tapestry — with evocative sound-scapes echoing the buzz of living hives, luminous projections, sculptural forms and interactive installations that chart 120 million years of adaptation and endurance.
And summer’s promise has been fulfilled: a “roarsome” Jurassic season roared to life, complete with dinosaur puppets, fossil digs, curator chats, digital treasure hunts and creative workshops — transforming the Museum into a palaeontological playground.
In a museum where ancient artifacts commune with cutting-edge showmanship, every visit feels like stepping through the folds of time — whether traversing the fossil-strewn depths of Earth's beginnings or floating among the stars. Here, discovery is perpetual, and delight boundless. #familytrip #localguides #historicallandmarks #freeentry #liverpool
