A spontaneous road trip turned out to be absolutely addictive! Braving the Jiangnan rainy season with my mom and furry kid, we discovered N ways to heal in Liyang✨
Day 1: Into the Wild, Stepping into an Ink Painting
Departing Suzhou at dawn, we cruised smoothly through Taihu Tunnel🚗 By morning, we stumbled upon the "Most Scenic Sky Road of Highway No.1" – every snapshot looked like a soft-filtered masterpiece! Pro tip from a foodie: pack snacks as roadside stalls are scarce.
Afternoon drizzle led us to "Goddess' Heart." Tea fields and meadows peeked through mist, their greens intensified by rain🌱 Heading south along Highway No.1, we checked into a mountainside B&B at dusk. Though dinner was pricey, dining with mountain views was pure ceremony!
Day 2: Bamboo Sea Mysteries & Serendipity
Rain threatened to ruin plans but delivered magic instead! At 8am, "Nanshan Bamboo Sea" felt like private property. The train+cable car combo took us above rolling clouds – straight out of a fantasy drama! Discovering a hidden bird paradise in the bamboo forest made the ticket worth every penny💰
Failed to gather enough people for bamboo rafting (minimum 2 required), but consoled ourselves with vermicelli soup before rushing to "Pingqiao Stone Dam." Post-rain waterflow was perfect – worth circling for parking and trekking 500m through mud! Kids loved splashing in the streams, making it ideal for families.
Final stop "Cloud Lake" (a B&B owner's recommendation) was surprisingly underwhelming🤣 Wrapped up in 10 minutes – proof that the best surprises happen off-script!
📝 Travel Musings
Unplanned journeys heal best: Highway No.1 deserted in rain, listening to droplets kiss leaves through open windows; promising Mom we'd bring a canopy next time to lounge roadside... The finest view? Wasting time with loved ones☀️
