The British Museum is one of the most famous museums in the world, housing over 8 million artifacts that cover the history and culture of various regions around the globe. From Egyptian mummies and the Rosetta Stone to Chinese porcelain and bronzes, it feels like stepping into a time tunnel.
🙋 Personal Experience
When in London, the British Museum is a must-visit! The exhibits are incredibly rich, and I particularly recommend the Egyptian mummies, the Parthenon sculptures in the Greek gallery, and the Chinese national treasures in the Asian gallery. Admission is free, and even a quick tour takes several hours, so I suggest setting aside at least half a day to fully appreciate the museum. If you're short on time, check the museum's website for recommended must-see exhibits and prioritize the areas that interest you most.
📷 Photography Tips
The lighting inside the British Museum is soft, and the glass roof of the central hall, the Great Court, is a must-photograph spot. Remember to take pictures from the stairs for a more layered composition. Additionally, the Egyptian mummy area and the Rosetta Stone are usually crowded, so it's best to take photos right when the museum opens to avoid the crowds.
