I've got to tell you about Chuxi Tulou—it's one of those incredible, off-the-beaten-path UNESCO sites that you'll absolutely love.

💡 My Must-Follow Tips for Your Visit:

Go to the Observation Deck FIRST! Seriously, I can't stress this enough. You'll get the most amazing panoramic view of the entire tulou cluster. If you visit the buildings first, you might be too tired to climb up later!

Let the Kids Be Kids! Don't rush them. There’s a small stream perfect for playing in. Honestly, the kids in my group seemed more fascinated by trying to catch fish than by the historic buildings themselves! I let them rest and play—it was totally worth it.

Buy from the Grandpas! The elderly locals sell little toys and snacks. They're incredibly friendly and the prices are so fair. I was so surprised by their hospitality that I didn't even want to haggle!

Hop on the Shuttle Bus! It's only ¥10 for a round trip. It's basically a "natural air-conditioning" ride, which was a lifesaver. Just make sure your hat is on tight!

Climb a Tulou! I made sure to go inside and climb to the top of one of the buildings. The view from up there is a whole new perspective on these incredible circular homes—it was absolutely stunning.
