Phra Narai Ratchaniwet, Lopburi

Visit Phra Narai Ratchaniwet, an important historical site in Lopburi Province. Built during the reign of King Narai the Great around 1666 AD, it served as a royal residence and administrative center when Lopburi was established as a secondary capital alongside Ayutthaya.

📍 Location
Located in Mueang Lopburi District, in the heart of the city near Phra Prang Sam Yot and San Phra Kan.

🏛️ Historical Significance
King Narai the Great implemented a policy of opening the country to Western culture. The palace was constructed by Thai engineers and craftsmen in collaboration with the French, resulting in a unique blend of Thai and Western (French Baroque) architectural styles.

🏰 Inside the Palace
Currently, the palace is divided into two main sections:

1. Ayutthaya-era Historical Sites
- Dusit Sawan Thanya Maha Prasat Hall (ruins)
- Phiman Mongkut Pavilion
- Pharmacy
- Royal Elephant Stables

2. King Rama IV-era Residences (Neoclassical European Style)
Now housing the Somdet Phra Narai National Museum, which exhibits the history of Lopburi, ancient artifacts, and the royal court's lifestyle in the past.
