An overnight trip to Vang Vieng on the China-Laos Railway

While I was in Luang Prabang, I took the chance to take an overnight trip to Vang Vieng on the China-Laos Railway. It was quite far from downtown Luang Prabang, so I asked the people at the inn to buy me a ticket and also to pick me up and drop me off. The station is quite deep in the mountains.

I left Luang Prabang on the train after 11:00 and arrived in just over an hour. It was National Day holiday, so I heard a lot of Chinese on the train. There is also on-board sales. There is luggage space, but it may be difficult to move around if you have a large suitcase. At the station, there is a kiosk-like store (there is also a Beer Lao) where you can buy Amazon coffee, snacks, and drinks.

There are many tunnels on the way, and the signal is often lost, but the scenery is full of greenery and beautiful.

You can also go from Vang Vieng to Vientiane.
