📍Wat Xieng Thong, also known as Wat Xieng Thong, is one of the most important and ancient temples in Luang Prabang, Laos. Its architecture beautifully blends Lan Xang art and is regarded as a symbol of Laos' religion and culture.
🛕The Red Sim, also known as the Reclining Buddha Hall, or the Red Temple, is a must-see for all visitors. This small Sim is located next to the Ubosot (ordination hall) or the Great Buddha Hall. Its distinctive exterior walls are painted rose pink or brick red, complemented by beautiful murals. Peeking out the small windows creates a truly captivating and beautiful sight.
🧱 Within the temple grounds are other architecturally significant structures, including the Ubosot (ordination hall), a beautifully golden royal carriage, a library, and a drum tower.
❗️Please note that dress code is recommended. Sleeveless shirts and shorts are prohibited.
📢Open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Admission is approximately 20,000 kip (around 60-70 baht). It's a good idea to arrive early; there aren't many people and the light is beautiful. Walk out the side of the temple and you'll find yourself on the Mekong River road.
