Longmen Grottoes are divided into two parts: West Hill Grottoes and East Hill Grottoes:
1️⃣ West Hill Grottoes: The essence of the essence, a must-see is the Vairocana Buddha niche! The main Buddha, 17.14 meters tall, is stunning under the sunlight. The moment the light and shadow fall on the statue is truly breathtaking 😭 Remember to bring a wide-angle lens; panoramic shots are amazing.
2️⃣ East Hill Grottoes: Fewer people here, allowing close-up observation of the grotto details, perfect for those who enjoy quiet appreciation.

✨ Practical tips:
1⃣️ Best visiting time: 8-10 AM or 4-6 PM, the lighting is perfect for photos 📸 Night sessions are also beautiful (night tickets sold separately).
2⃣️ Suggested route: West Hill Grottoes → cross the bridge to East Hill Grottoes → Xiangshan Temple (included in the ticket), the whole trip takes about 3-4 hours.
3⃣️ Don’t miss: Vairocana Buddha, Ten Thousand Buddha Cave, Lotus Cave—these classic caves are a must.
