Madrid isn't just about visiting the Royal Palace and the squares; the food is also a must! This time, I'm sharing my one-day food itinerary, enjoying the most authentic local flavors while walking.

☀️ Breakfast | Caracola Antón Martín
📍 Calle de Santa Isabel, 5, 28012 Madrid
This little shop hidden in the Antón Martín market not only sells giant conch rolls, but also surprisingly good Basque cakes! Rich and creamy, like the pistachio & hazelnut chocolate flavor I tried, it has a delicate texture and is perfect with coffee.
👉 Tip: Cake flavors change frequently, so go early if you want to try the popular ones.

🍴 Lunch | Casa Labra
📍 Calle de Tetuán, 12, 28013 Madrid
Established in 1860, this century-old restaurant specializes in fried cod (Bacalao rebozado), crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, a simple yet classic dish.
👉 Tips: The line for takeout is faster than for dine-in, and eating on the street offers a more Madrid feel.

🛒 Afternoon | Mercado de San Miguel
📍 Plaza de San Miguel, s/n, 28005 Madrid
Madrid's most popular market, with tons of food stalls. We recommend La Casa del Bacalao for their codfish toast, Iberian ham tortillas, and various seafood tapas, perfect with a glass of Sangria. 👉 Tips: Lunchtime is packed, so arrive after 11 PM and order a few small portions to share.

🍫 Afternoon Tea | Chocolatería San Ginés
📍 Pasadizo de San Ginés, 5, 28013 Madrid
The classic "Hot Chocolate + Churros" is a must-try. Rich yet not greasy, it's a local favorite since 1894.
👉 Tips: Open late, so go in the afternoon, perfect for a late-night snack. Takeout is usually faster than dine-in.

🍄 Snacks | Mesón del Champiñón
📍 C. de Cava de San Miguel, 17, 28005 Madrid
Famous for their garlic-roasted mushrooms, stuffed with ham and herbs. A single plate is enough to finish. 👉 Tips: Small but popular, we recommend arriving around 5 or 6 pm. You'll need to queue during dinner.

🍷 Dinner | Vinitus Gran Vía
📍 Gran Vía, 4, 28013 Madrid
This popular tapas restaurant recommends the Iberian ham platter, grilled prawn skewers, baked cheese, and steak and foie gras paired with Sangria. It's a wonderful atmosphere.
👉 Tips: There's bound to be a queue during the dinner rush between 8 and 9 pm, so make reservations or arrive early.
