A warm meal at a humble island restaurant in Gogoshima

After a short ferry ride from Matsuyama, I arrived at the small island of Gogoshima (興居島). Deep within the island's narrow alleys, I found a local restaurant where I decided to have a meal. It turned out to be a heartwarming and memorable experience, far exceeding my expectations.

The exterior of the restaurant was modest and unassuming, and inside, local residents were quietly enjoying their meals.

The set menu I ordered featured vegetables grown on the island, grilled fish, and side dishes that were prepared with great care. The soup was light yet rich in flavor.

The elderly lady who served the food smiled warmly and said, "Today's cherry tomatoes are extra sweet," which made my heart feel even warmer.
