Just a 15-minute ferry ride from Matsuyama's Takahama Port, Gogoshima (興居島) welcomes you with its serene charm carried by the wind.

The moment you step onto the island, you feel the slow passage of time. Bicycles outnumber people, and apart from the sound of waves, there’s an almost complete silence. The crystal-clear sea, small harbor, and narrow alleyways lined with stone walls exude a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of scenes from a Japanese countryside film.

Near the seaside, you’ll find repurposed school buildings turned into restaurants, humble udon shops, and walking paths surrounded by mandarin orchards—perfect for a leisurely day of exploration.
