Île aux Fouquets is a small uninhabited island located southeast of the main island of Mauritius, with an area of about 2.49 hectares. The island is made up of pure coral reefs and has been protected as part of a national park since June 5, 2004☝🏽
The name of the island comes from a lighthouse built in 1864.
This lighthouse was in operation until the early 20th century, and its remains are still there today, which is very emotional!
Foquet Island is also known as a good spot for snorkeling and diving!
In the highly transparent waters,
a diverse marine life can be observed.
Because it is an uninhabited island, you will basically be on a tour when visiting, but it is very beautiful so it is worth going!
