Meizhou Short Trip

A year ago, I had longed for Meizhou, but for various reasons I couldn't go there for a visit. A year later, because I was traveling in Guangdong, I had a day to go to Meizhou to fulfill my wish. Meizhou, as I imagined, is a quiet and ancient small city, suitable for feeling the worldly atmosphere here. Most of the shops on the old street rest in the afternoon, and each shop is opened at the owner's will, revealing the Meizhou people's attitude of not competing with the world. In Meizhou for a day, I tasted a lot of delicious food, my favorite is pickled noodles. Unlike the noodles I ate in other parts of Guangdong, which are sweet, pickled noodles have a strong garlic and lard aroma. The aroma is full of salty and fragrant when it enters the mouth, without a hint of sweetness. This allows me, a tourist from the north, to taste the delicious food that suits my taste. In Meizhou, I ate two bowls of pickled noodles in just one day, and even wanted to pack a few more when I left. The dry and salty noodles and the oily garlic crisp are my deepest impression of Meizhou. If possible, I would like to keep eating pickled noodles here. This is the most delicious food I have ever encountered. It is really unforgettable. The streets and alleys of Meizhou have many, many shops. I can't tell what kind of shop it is. Wedding supplies store? New Year's supplies store? All are shining with red light. Under the gray background of the old street, it appears even more intense. Compared with the north, it seems to have more New Year's flavor here. Handwritten couplets can be seen everywhere. With a big stroke, the color is thick and heavy. This is the New Year in my memory. Meizhou, this city, is in line with my heart in every way. This time it is a bit regrettable. I only came for a day and have to leave. If I have the chance in the future, I hope to live here for a while, slowly experience the slow-paced life of Meizhou people, and then taste the pickled noodles that I have been thinking about.
