Exploring Malacca's Maritime History: Malacca Maritime Museum

#springitinerary

The Malacca Maritime Museum (Muzium Samudera) is a museum showcasing Malacca's rich maritime heritage, located in the heart of Malacca City. Officially opened to the public on June 13, 1994, by then-Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, the museum marked the completion of its first phase.

The second phase of the museum, housed in the historic Old Guthrie Building, was inaugurated on May 23, 1998, by Poh Ah Tiam, Chairman of the State Tourism, Culture, and Environment Committee. Through carefully preserved artifacts and exhibits, the museum vividly brings to life Malacca's glorious past as a flourishing maritime trade hub in history.

A must-visit for history enthusiasts and those interested in Southeast Asia's seafaring legacy! ⚓🌏
