Hidden Hot Spring Village Day Trip to Kurokawa Hot Springs

The first time I knew about Kurokawa Onsen was because of the beautiful photos of the Bamboo Lantern Festival.
The lanterns are only lit from late December to March every year.
But even if there is no Bamboo Lantern Festival, there are still day trips here!
As long as you buy a 1500 yen hot spring hand shape, you can choose to bathe in three hot springs
or two hot springs and a souvenir~

This time I chose three hot spring baths:
Kurokawa Onsen Oyado Hotel Oyado Noshiyu/Iwajuku Shinmeikan/Kurokawa Onsen Oku-no-yu

Iwajuku Shinmeikan is a rare cave bath, which is dark and mysterious 😂 but because it is a cave series, it is particularly difficult to change clothes

And I think Oku-no-yu is very high-end! And they provide bath products, which is very considerate
(most day trips do not provide)

In addition, there are many restaurants and souvenir shops in the central hot spring street

There are also self-service shops selling hot spring eggs on the road

Kurokawa Onsen is near Aso, so it is very suitable to arrange a self-driving trip to Aso or Yufuin
