Togakushi Shrine Chusha, located in Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture, is the central shrine among the five Togakushi Shrines. It enshrines the deity Ame-no-Yagokoro-Omoikane-no-Mikoto, known as the god of wisdom, academics, and good fortune. The shrine is said to have been established about 2,000 years ago and has long been a sacred site for ascetic practices, attracting many practitioners and worshippers.
The shrine grounds feature a majestic cedar avenue with trees over 800 years old, creating a sacred space where you can feel the pure air just by walking through. The stone steps leading to the main hall are particularly popular as a magical spot where sunlight filters through the trees.
