Just a short ride from Tokyo, Nagareyama is a peaceful town full of quiet charm, history, and cozy cafés. Perfect for when you want to escape the city buzz and just breathe.
I started the day with a visit to 常與寺 (Joyo-ji Temple), known as the birthplace of modern education in Chiba Prefecture. It’s a meaningful and serene spot tucked into a quiet neighborhood.
Then, I stopped by Nagareyama Sengen Shrine, a lovely little shrine surrounded by nature. The path to it is especially calming — perfect for a mindful walk.
And the highlight? Cafe tronc, a beautifully renovated traditional house turned café. I had their seasonal cherry parfait, which was just as photogenic as it was delicious 🍒✨ The atmosphere is amazing, but there are only a few seats, so definitely make a reservation!
Why I recommend Nagareyama for a day trip:
・You can enjoy history, culture, and sweets all in one calm, walkable area
・It’s a peaceful escape just outside the city, with authentic local vibes
