Shangluo Laojun Mountain, where the founder of Taoism, Taishang Laojun, cultivated himself to immortality, is renowned for its picturesque peaks, dense forests, secluded paths, and unique caves, earning it the reputation of a "natural oxygen bar." Located at the intersection of Shanxi, Shanxi, and Henan provinces, in Luonan County, Shaanxi Province, 190 kilometers from Xi'an, it borders Huashan Mountain to the north, overlooking the 800-li Qinchuan Plain and overlooking the Qinmang Mountains to the south. It serves as the gateway to and from the Central Plains, and has long been known as the "ancestral mountain of Chinese Taoism."
Laojun Mountain boasts stunning peaks, jagged rocks, and sturdy pines, all green all year round. Spring brings a vibrant array of flowers, a fragrant aroma permeating the air; summer offers a delightful, refreshing lush green; autumn brings fiery crimson leaves; and winter, blanketed in snow, offers an enchanting spectacle.
The newly constructed winding mountain trail boasts a smooth surface and secluded paths. Thousands of steps are interspersed with old vines, and birdsong lingers. A sudden mountain breeze stirs, and the pine trees surge, a whistling sound resonating endlessly. Climbing in the rain, the mist lingers, the wind and rain rustle, a lamentable sound. The view from a high vantage point is captivating, like a celestial being. The Laojun Mountain Cave, now equipped with solar lighting, boasts a unique landscape of pillars and columns. The sacred ancestors and immortal children linger, a wisp of purple air curls, and the ancient fragrance and colors of the heavenly world are a dazzling display.
The warm temperate semi-humid monsoon climate features four distinct seasons, with rain and heat occurring in the same season, and distinct dry and wet seasons in the summer and winter. Avoid the cold winter and travel in spring, summer, and autumn.
Laojun Mountain has a statue of Taishang Laojun, an eco-tourism mountaineering sightseeing area, the Laojun Cave karst landform viewing area, the Laojun Mountain antique street, the Xuanyuan Palace, the strange stone bonsai exhibition hall, the Laojun Mountain Cultural and Art Stele Forest, the Taishang Laojun Memorial Hall, the Pigeon Cliff Waterfall, the Jade Emperor Temple viewing area, the Laojun Mountain Cableway, the Qingniu Cave karst landform viewing area, the Laojun Mountain Convention and Exhibition Center and other tourist attractions.
