🇯🇵Nagasaki|Free access to the rooftop garden overlooking Nagasaki Port! Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum

The Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum, located next to Nagasaki Port, advocates a design that combines with nature. The sound of flowing water in the canal, the garden on the rooftop, and natural lighting, all of which are combined with the concept of the forest, have created this "breathing art museum."

▶️Transportation
Transportation: 5 minutes walk from Nagasaki Electric Railway Dejima Station or Media Center Station.
Opening hours: 10am - 8pm

The sign and appearance of the museum alone are very design-oriented. The entrance hall uses natural lighting and the corridors are well ventilated, giving the overall feeling a very comfortable feel. No wonder it is called a breathing art museum.

Even if you don't visit, there are commemorative stamps in the lobby. You can take a walk around the art museum and get your stamp as a souvenir.

The main purpose of this visit is actually to go to the rooftop garden to enjoy the view of Nagasaki Port. This is also a photography spot recommended by locals! I walked upstairs directly from the ground level, but didn't see any signs prohibiting entry to the grassy area. I was "monitored" by the security guard for quite a while until I entered the main building, where I saw the signs - it turns out that the grassy area here is prohibited from entering, so everyone should be careful when going there.

The top floor of the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum is very large and rarely visited. It is very suitable for taking photos or chatting with friends.
The view of Nagasaki Port from here is more open, and it faces west, making it a great place to watch the sunset.

You can easily take minimal photos facing the canal of Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum.
