Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum - Beautiful, stylish giant artworks

The Nagasaki Museum of Art opened in April 2005. It was designed by Kengo Kuma with the concept of a "breathing museum". The main body of the museum itself is a huge work of art.

The art gallery adopts a simple design as the main theme, using simple partitions and line elements. The design cleverly integrates wind, water, light, forest, and earth. The rooftop garden observatory takes in the charming views of Nagasaki Port and Mount Inasa, giving you a full sense of satisfaction wherever you look.

The rooftop courtyard and the gallery are both accessible and offer beautiful views of the port and night sceneries.
