Nagasaki Peace Park

#DomesticTravelRecord
The Peace Park, located on a small hill on the north side of the Atomic Bomb Hypocenter Park, was created with the vow to never repeat such a tragic war and the wish for lasting world peace.

The creator is a sculptor from Nagasaki, and the statue symbolizes God's love and Buddha's mercy. The right hand pointing to the sky represents the "threat of the atomic bomb," the left hand stretched out horizontally represents "peace," and the lightly closed eyes represent the desire to "pray for the souls of the atomic bomb victims."
Every year, August 9th, the anniversary of the atomic bombing, is designated "Nagasaki Peace Day," and a peace memorial ceremony is held in front of the statue, where a declaration of peace is made to the whole world.
