Nagasaki Peace Park

Nagasaki Peace Park

If you visit Nagasaki, I think it's a place you must visit at least once.

This park was built right next to the site where the atomic bomb "Fat Man" fell,
and it embodies the message of "no more war, let's preserve peace."

As you walk through the park, you'll come across a grassy area in the middle.
It's said to be the site of the Nagasaki Prison Urakami Branch.
It's said that when the atomic bomb was dropped, all 134 people, including prisoners, were killed instantly.
Of those, 13 were Koreans.
So, I paused for a moment of silence in front of the site.

However, one thing that's disappointing for Koreans is that
there was no memorial to commemorate the Koreans of that time.
Of course, there's one on the way to the Peace Museum...
But even that caused a lot of controversy, and they barely managed to erect a memorial next to the restroom. ㅠㅠ
(A few years ago, Mindan erected a new memorial across from the Peace Museum.)

Anyway, it's a place that makes you think a lot, so I highly recommend stopping by.
