[Yamaguchi Prefecture] Motonosumi Shrine

I visited Motonosumi Shrine in Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, famous for its many torii gates!

Nagato is known for its 600-year-old Yumoto Onsen, but there's also this wonderful spot nearby.

It was a long weekend, so it was difficult to find a parking spot, but the sheer number of torii gates towering against the ocean backdrop was a sight to behold.

The red torii gates stood out against the blue sea.

Motonosumi Shrine is worshipped by locals as a great deity for not only business prosperity, good catches, and safety at sea, but also good relationships, fertility, good fortune, protection from evil, prosperity, traffic safety, and academic success.

If you're on a hot spring trip, be sure to visit Motonosumi Shrine! It's definitely worth it!
