[Aichi] Endoji Shopping Street: A fusion of retro and modern

Endoji Shopping Street

Endoji Shopping Street, located in Nishi Ward, Nagoya City, is a historic shopping arcade that has been in operation since the post-war period.

While retaining a retro Showa-era atmosphere, the area is also home to a growing number of stylish cafes and general stores, making it a popular spot for locals and tourists alike!

Conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Kokusai Center Station or a 15-minute walk from Nagoya Station, the shopping street is lined with unique shops, including the traditional coffee shop New Poppy, the popular Maison YWE, and the renowned sushi restaurant Sushi Kogetsu!

The Endoji Tanabata Festival is held every July and August, and the Endoji Autumn Paris Festival, which celebrates French culture, is held in October, bringing excitement to the area. The Showa-era streets have also been used as a filming location for movies and TV dramas.

Within walking distance are Shikemichi, where Edo-period storehouses remain, and Nagoya Castle, both of which can be enjoyed alongside sightseeing. Come experience the unique charm of Nagoya at Endoji Shopping Street, where retro and modern blend together!
