Osu Kannon is located in Nagoya and was founded in 1333. It is one of the three major Kannons in Japan, along with the Asakusa Kannon in Sensō-ji Temple in Tokyo and the Tsu Kannon in Mie Prefecture. Osu Kannon is the main Buddhist temple in Nagoya. Inside the temple is a statue of Hotei, one of the famous Seven Lucky Gods of Nagoya. The temple also houses the Osu Library, which houses many precious books, including the oldest handwritten copy of the "Kojiki". In addition, next to the temple is the bustling Osu Kannon shopping street. After paying homage to Osu Kannon, you can stroll around the shopping street.
