The rare sight of Shuri Castle in Naha, Okinawa, undergoing reconstruction will be available until 2026!

Shuri Castle is the center of the Ryukyu Kingdom, and history itself. It was destroyed by fire on October 31, 2019. Construction on the reconstruction will begin in 2022. It is scheduled to be completed in 2026.

The remains of the Shuri Castle Seiden Foundation are designated as a World Heritage Site, and since there are documents of the building, it was reported to UNESCO that "the impact on the value of the World Heritage Site is minor."

Yui Rail/Get off at Shuri Station and walk for about 15 minutes
Local bus/Get off at Shuri Castle Park Entrance bus stop and walk for about 5 minutes, get off at Shuri Castle Front bus stop and walk for 1 minute to arrive in front of Shureimon Gate.
