In a corner of Naminoue Shrine, look up and you'll see this divine beast, shimmering in golden light. It leaps with its head held high, its feet adorned with multicolored cloud patterns, as if galloping from the heavens.
The beast's golden body symbolizes nobility and auspiciousness, while its scales and flaming mane evoke the majesty of the dragon and the auspiciousness of the qilin. More than just a decorative element, it serves as a symbol of protection—guarding the shrine and those who visit.
The charm of travel lies in the details. While the grandeur of the main hall is certainly awe-inspiring, it's the carvings in these corners that convey the craftsman's meticulous attention to detail and the power of their faith. Standing beneath the divine beast, a silent thought rose in my heart:
Auspiciousness is not far away; it is present in every corner we look to.
