Visiting Nakatsugawa in October is a wonderful experience, as the town and surrounding areas transform into a beautiful palette of autumn colors. Nestled in the Kiso Valley, Nakatsugawa is a charming town that serves as a gateway to the historic Nakasendo Road. In October, the crisp air and vibrant red, orange, and yellow leaves make it the perfect time for hiking, especially along the scenic trails between Tsumago-juku and Magome-juku.

‼️We visited Nakatsugawa during the first week of October, and the leaves on the trees were just beginning to take on the beautiful colors of autumn.
