🎈Wat Phayap, Royal Monastery. This temple was founded in 1657. It's unknown who built it. Upon completion of the city of Nakhon Ratchasima, King Narai the Great ordered the restoration of six temples within the city walls: Wat Phra Narai Maharat, Wat Burap, Wat Bueng, Wat Phayap, Wat Isan, and Wat Sa Kaeo. The ordination hall at Wat Phayap is a late Ayutthaya-style chapel shaped like a junk boat and made of marble. Inside, the principal Buddha image, depicting the Buddha giving his first sermon with his feet hanging down, is enshrined. Wat Phayap was established as a royal temple on June 29, 2008.
