Just returned from Guangwushan on October 16, 2025, the real-shot scenery left me speechless with awe 🤩 Stayed up all night to put together this nanny-level guide for a Guangwushan day trip. Little darlings, save it quickly!
National Geographic of China truly didn't deceive me, Asia's longest "red carpet" has been laid out 🍁 The mountains are covered in red, the forests are dyed in layers, with a super long 35-day autumn foliage viewing period, this is the "ceiling" of the autumn foliage world! Currently, Guangwushan's autumn colors are 80% vibrant. If not now, then when?
From late October to mid-November is the golden period when Guangwushan's autumn foliage is at its most beautiful 🍁 The colors reach their ultimate splendor. Miss this, and you'll truly have to wait another year!
🚗 About Transportation (Departing from Chengdu):
✔️ High-speed Rail + Direct Shuttle: From Chengdu to Bazhong East Station, high-speed rail takes about 2.5 hours. After exiting the station, transfer to the scenic area's direct shuttle.
✔️ Bazhong East Station Direct Shuttle: One shuttle at 10:30 AM and another at 12:30 PM. Don't panic if you miss the early one~
✔️ Self-driving: Approximately 5 hours from Chengdu. It's recommended to depart a day in advance, stay in Nanjiang County, and head straight to the scenic area the next day.
🗺️ Play Route Guide:
✔️ Morning: Natural Gallery
This is where Guangwushan's "red carpet" is located! The 700-meter autumn foliage boardwalk offers a new view with every step. The autumn leaves are all yellow now 📷 Any casual shot looks like a blockbuster. The drop-off point is the best photo spot, with tall, straight trees forming a natural frame. Stepping on the thick fallen leaves, the rustling sound is like nature's symphony. It's breathtakingly beautiful here on a sunny day~
✔️ Afternoon: Xianglushan, Heixionggou
Take the cable car up the mountain, traversing through a high-altitude sea of snow and rime ice wonders. The sea of clouds on the mountaintop, alongside the red leaves, offers a panoramic view of the colorful forests, so magnificent it leaves one speechless. The best time for photos is in the afternoon; as the mist dissipates, sunlight sprinkles on the red leaves, creating incredibly distinct color layers. From Xianglushan, you'll descend to Heixionggou, a 2.1km downhill boardwalk where most beautiful photos are born – don't miss it!
💡 Small tips for your visit:
✔️ Clothing: Check the weather in advance! Guangwushan is very cold, so you'll need a thick coat now. Light-colored clothes stand out wonderfully against the red foliage background.
✔️ Photo Spots: Xianglushan observation deck for panoramic views, Natural Gallery for capturing details, Heixionggou for photos of flowing water and red leaves.
✔️ Don't go up Xianglushan on rainy or foggy days; the fog is too thick to see anything.
Guangwushan's autumn foliage covers an area of 680 square kilometers and is certified by National Geographic of China as "China's No. 1 Autumn Foliage Mountain" 🍁 Quickly save this guide and come experience this stunning autumn scenery!
