Sun Moon Lake – A breathtaking view from above

One of the must-have experiences when visiting Sun Moon Lake is riding the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway. The boarding point is conveniently located near Ita Thao Pier, just a 5-10 minute walk from the pedestrian street.

As you step into the ropeway station, you'll immediately notice the cleanliness and orderliness that Taiwan is known for. The cable cars come in two types: standard and glass-bottomed, the latter offering an extra thrill for those seeking a more exciting experience.

The highlight of this trip is the "bird's-eye view" of Sun Moon Lake. From above, you'll see the vast expanse of the lake with its stunning blue waters contrasting against the lush green mountains and the wide-open sky. The view is so mesmerizing that you'll wish you could freeze time. This spot is perfect for capturing panoramic shots or simply sitting quietly to soak in the scenery.

The ropeway also takes you up to the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. If you have time, you can explore this attraction further. However, even if you're just here for the views, a single round trip on the ropeway is well worth it.
