Wood Museum in Checheng

Checheng in Nantou County was once a major transit hub for timber exports in central Taiwan, boasting a glorious history in the timber industry.

The Wood Museum is located at the heart of the Checheng community, right next to the Checheng Train Station. Its main structure is primarily made of wood, supported by steel frames, showcasing a modernist style that highlights the beauty of its architecture.

To enhance tourism and recreational resources in the Checheng area, the Sun Moon Lake Scenic Area Administration rebuilt the Wood Museum based on the historical trajectory of the timber industry and its relics. Inside the museum, there is a restaurant and a children's play area, ensuring a fun-filled day for the whole family!
