📍 Todai-ji Temple Review
This was the most impressive place during my Nara trip. ⛩️ The majestic atmosphere is palpable from the entrance, and as you walk along the path, deer slowly pass by. 🦌 They're not afraid of people, so they'll even approach you if you have a snack in your hand. It's a unique experience to walk alongside animals in nature, and I really got a feel for Nara's unique atmosphere.
Entering the main hall (Daibutsuden) is truly overwhelming. A massive Buddha statue sits in the center, and seeing it in person is breathtakingly large and intricate. 🙏 If you take your time, you'll see the intricate carvings and the beauty of the structure. Perhaps because it's a wooden building, the scent of incense and the tranquil atmosphere lingered. Even with the many tourists, the interior was quite quiet.
Admission was around 600 yen for adults, but considering the scale and impact, it was well worth it. There are also small shrines and shops nearby, making it a great place to explore, and the park scenery with deer roaming around made for some really pretty photos. 📸 This is a must-visit if you're in Nara.
