[Huatan Township] is located on the west bank of the Nanxi River in Yongjia, in the middle of the river with beautiful scenery.
The several villages in Huatan Township are not tourist attractions and are not well-known, but their ancient buildings are very interesting.
The ancient village was rebuilt during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, and now has more than 80 ancient buildings including houses, temples, archways, pavilions, etc.
The author originally went to see an archway that is a national key cultural relic protection, but he did not do enough homework and confused the place and did not see the true appearance of the archway, which was a pity.
【Highlights】
⭐Xiantai Archway: Together with the Jinzhao Archway in Shangcun, Yantou Town, it is listed as a national key cultural relic protection site. (Last two pictures)
It was built in the 18th year of Hongzhi reign of Ming Dynasty (1505), with a gable roof and a stone and wood structure. The archway stands on a 0.9-meter-high platform, with a width of 6.9 meters and a depth of 4 meters. It has three bays and three floors and runs from north to south.
Each of the four corner columns has a capital with seven steps, one raised and two lower raised steps. The beam structure is a raised beam type. The roof ridge is made of bricks with clear water patterns and dragon-shaped beasts on both ends; there are hanging beasts on the eaves ridge. There are wind boards and hanging fish on the edge of the exit.
📣Note: The archway was built next to a school, so don’t make the wrong choice. Those two at the entrance of the village are not them!
⭐Wufu Ancestral Hall
Built during the Zhengtong period of the Ming Dynasty (1436-1436), it is the earliest of the four ancestral halls in Huatan.
The First Archway in Xishan: It was built by the descendants of Zhu family during the Jiajing period of Ming Dynasty (1522-1566).
The archway is of wooden structure, raised beam style, with a gable roof, one bay wide, six pillars and a single eave, and two golden pillars with bluestone drum-shaped structures in front and behind.
⭐Sanguan Pavilion
The building has a hip roof and three bays on each side. The column grid consists of two inner and outer circles, four inner columns, and twelve eaves columns. The top is dome-shaped and the caisson is painted.
⭐Wufu Archway
The year is unknown. (If anyone knows, please let me know) I mistook it for the Xiantai Archway and took the photo for a long time. What a mistake.
🚵🏻♂️Address: Huatan Township, Yongjia, Wenzhou
🚘Navigation: "Huasan Village", the village is divided into Huayi, Huaer and Huasan villages, and the ancient buildings are relatively scattered.
