Miyazaki Prefecture's "Udo Shrine" is a mysterious power spot! Physical strength is also required!

Name: Udo Jingu

Address: 3232 Miyanoura, Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture

Opening and closing times: Opens at 6am, closes at 6pm

Access: Miyazaki Kotsu (bus route) bus stop "Udo Jingu" 10 minutes walk

It is said that it was founded during the reign of the 10th Emperor Sujin, but the exact date is unknown. While looking out over the Hyuga Nada Sea, you can go down the steep stairs to the bottom of the cliff. The main shrine is in a cave beyond that. Although the road is now well-maintained, it flourished as a Shugendo sect, and you can feel the harsh environment it was in. We recommend visiting while your legs are still strong.

It is said to bring good luck in sea safety, making good connections, safe childbirth, and child-rearing. It is also popular as a power spot. It seems to be attracting attention from overseas, and there were many tourists visiting when I visited.

I went there by rental car. The road was narrow along the way, but it was wide enough to handle oncoming cars. There are three free parking lots. The closest parking lot was the first one.

Finally. I know I'm repeating myself, but I recommend visiting while your legs are still strong 😄
