Toshogu Shrine⛩️

This shrine is considered an important landmark of Nikko. It can be said that anyone who comes to this city and does not visit Toshogu Shrine is like not having arrived at all. This shrine was built to dedicate to the god of light. It is also the last residence of Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu, making it an ancient temple that is a symbol of Nikko, one of the most important in Japanese history. At first, this shrine was used as a place for burial. Later, buildings were built and the shrine was expanded until it became as large as it is today.
