Hanzhong | Qu Family Courtyard | It really feels like time travel

Opening the weathered wooden door of Qu Family Courtyard feels like stepping back 350 years in time. This 350-year-old courtyard looks like it just walked out of an ancient painting! The mottled old walls, the upturned eaves, the corridors hung with red lanterns—every detail is full of stories. Especially on rainy days, the white walls and black tiles under the light and shadow make every photo look like a movie masterpiece 🎬

🏡【What’s it like to stay in a museum?】
• The building itself is a cultural relic: The entire complex is built along the mountain, preserving the complete layout of ancient residential houses. From the carved wooden window decorations to the blue bricks and black tiles, all bear the marks of time. Walking along the corridors, you almost fear disturbing the peaceful dreams of the ancients.
• Guest rooms are exhibits: Some rooms display folk cultural artifacts. Sleeping on a four-poster carved bed, even the bamboo shadows outside the window feel poetic and picturesque.
• Hidden photo spots: In the courtyard, there’s a golden ancient tree piercing through bamboo shadows. From the second-floor loft window, you can capture stunning compositions (remember to bring a telephoto lens!)

📸【Three cinematic photo spots】
1️⃣ Red lantern corridor: At dusk when the lights come on, stand in the S-shaped corridor and shoot upward, the orange-red light contrasts beautifully with the dark gray roof tiles.
2️⃣ Raindrop curtain under the eaves: Wait for a light rain and capture the moment when raindrops form lines at the corner of the wing room.
3️⃣ Bamboo shadows peeking at the ancient tree: Shoot through the bamboo gaps in the courtyard to capture the golden tree crown behind the horse-head wall, creating a rich layered effect.

🌿【Nearby activities】
• A 10-minute walk to Qingmuchuan Ancient Town’s old street to try authentic walnut bread and fairy tofu.
• Borrow a set of Hanfu from the housekeeper and take ancient-style photos in the courtyard (the hotel provides oil-paper umbrellas for free).
• Be sure to visit the viewing platform early in the morning; the old house in the sea of clouds looks unreal.

⚠️【Check-in tips】
• It’s recommended to choose the "Listening to Rain Pavilion" on the second floor facing the courtyard for a view and privacy.
• Ancient buildings have limited sound insulation, so bring earplugs to enjoy pure natural white noise.
• When booking on Trip.com, you can request a room with cultural relic displays; some special room types are not publicly available.

Completely preserves the Qing Dynasty "three-entry four-courtyard" layout
Every room displays old artifacts

(Small secret: Visit on a weekday during the off-season for a chance to have the entire courtyard to yourself for shooting empty scenes!)
