When it comes to Tokyo's attractions in Japan, Ginzan Onsen is a must-visit during winter!
Known as the filming location for "Spirited Away," the old-style inns paired with snow-covered scenery create a charming atmosphere. Whether during the day or at night, it's a perfect spot for sightseeing and photography (especially with yukata and winter coats).
Ginzan Onsen inns offer open-air hot springs, allowing you to relax while enjoying the snowy landscape and temporarily forget your worries ☺️.
Remember to book at least six months in advance, as reservations are extremely difficult to secure.
If you don't book a stay at a Ginzan Onsen inn, you won't be able to stay overnight and take nighttime photos, which would be a pity. So, even if it's a bit pricey, it's highly recommended to book a night at one of the inns.
If you're staying in Sendai before or after your visit, consider leaving your luggage at your Sendai hotel and only bringing a camera and a light bag for your overnight stay at Ginzan Onsen ♨️.
Ginzan Onsen also has a few souvenir shops. If you feel cold after spending too much time outdoors, you can step inside to warm up and browse the items 😁.
