Bored with ordinary train stations? If you're in Hokkaido, you must check in at Kofuku Station, or "The Station of Happiness." This old, defunct train station, however, continues to be a popular destination!
The auspicious name "Kofuku" (meaningful spot) means "happiness," making it a landmark for making wishes for happiness and love. Whether you're looking for a successful relationship or simply want to recharge, this is a must-visit!
A Super Cool Photo Spot (Vintage Vibe): The station itself is a small wooden building with a vintage look, but what really stands out is the walls covered in thousands of "pink train tickets," which tourists have written their wishes on and pasted on. It's a cool and meaningful backdrop! It feels like a work of art filled with hope!
Retired Trains: The station features a display of old, decommissioned red train cars, which you can enter and take photos with. It feels like you've traveled back in time to the 1970s, making it the perfect backdrop for vintage photos.
Don't forget to purchase a commemorative train ticket with "Kōfuku→" written on it to write your wishes and stick them on the station wall.
The station is located in Obihiro City in eastern Hokkaido. It may require a bus or rental car, but it's definitely worth it!
