Nyoi-rin Temple in Fukuoka, commonly known as the Frog Temple, is home to over 10,000 frog figurines scattered throughout its grounds. One of its unique features is a stone statue called 'Kuguri Kaeru,' which allows visitors to pass through the mouth of a frog. It is believed that doing so can transform bad fortune into good luck.
From June to September, the temple hosts a Wind Chime Festival, where numerous wind chimes are displayed, creating a quintessentially Japanese summer atmosphere. When the wind blows, the chimes produce a beautiful melody that is truly enchanting.
Additionally, many of the frog statues bear various messages, offering words of wisdom that leave a lasting impression.
Nyoi-rin Temple is a must-visit destination during your trip to Fukuoka.
