👋Ohayo from Fukuoka, Japan🇯🇵
From Fukuoka, take the train for just an hour to the temple.
✨️Nyoirinji Temple or Frog Temple🐸 The name of the temple comes from the abbot who brought a jade frog statue back from China, which was the beginning of the collection of frog statues in the temple. Currently, there are more than 5,000 frog statues decorating the temple grounds.
✨️This temple is believed to have been built in the Nara period by the monk Gyōki and is the place where the Bodhisattva is enshrined.
✨️Frog🐸 in Japanese (カエル - Kaeru) sounds similar to the word "return", which means the return of fortune, money, or good things.
