Area/Location - The village is beautiful and worth a visit. Nestled in a valley along the Shogawa River, rice is actually cultivated during the growing season.

We visited during this time, and the area was lush and green.

Highlights - Gassho-zukuri houses, traditional farmhouses over 250 years old, are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Shirakawa-go is a great place to visit in any season. It's beautiful and you won't be disappointed.
