Osaka Tenmangu Shrine

Osaka Tenmangu Shrine is a shrine located in Tenjinbashi, Kita-ku, Osaka City. It is also known by other names such as Tenman Tenjin, Naniwa Sugabyo, and Nakajima Tenmangu. It is affectionately known as "Tenjin-san of Tenma" by Osaka residents. It was formerly a prefectural shrine, but is now a special shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. The Tenjin Festival, held every year from July 24th to 25th, is known as one of the three major festivals in Japan and the three major summer festivals in Osaka.

Access

・If getting off at Minamimorimachi Station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line or Sakaisuji Line

Go right (south) along Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street immediately after exiting Exit 4, turn left at the intersection and continue for about 50m

・If getting off at Osaka Tenmangu Station on the JR Tozai Line

Go left (south) along Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street immediately after exiting Exit 7 (Tozai Line Access Building), turn left at the intersection and continue for about 50m
