Imperial Hotel Osaka ザ パーク Afternoon Tea

This hotel is renowned as the standard of Japanese-style omotenashi hospitality, so whenever I visit, I always feel like I’m being truly welcomed. In Osaka, a shuttle bus runs from Osaka Station. It’s in the same location as it was 10 years ago.

The fact that nothing has changed is also one of the reasons I visit Japan. I love how it’s unchanging, unhurried, and slow-paced, step by step, which can feel a bit frustrating but is very charming. I hardly remember this place from over 10 years ago.

Afternoon tea is served at The Park, a lobby lounge located on the 1st floor. It’s set up by the window overlooking the Oogawa River, which branches off from the Yodogawa River and passes Nagano Island. Since the time was 4:30 PM, I was celebrating my birthday alone.

Most lunch customers had already left, and it was a break time transitioning into dinner service. After returning from trips to Shikoku and Okayama, I booked this last order time, and having some time alone turned out to be a great choice.

It was prepared as a strawberry season afternoon tea. As expected for strawberry season, everything was strawberry-themed. The set includes 8 types of sweets, 4 types of savory items, and a scone plate topped with fruit, with sweets being the main focus.

The savory items add a refreshing touch, and the delicious dessert feast of sweets is delightful. You can feel the neatness and the classic Imperial style. I remember this hotel as the only one where Korean, English, and Japanese are all well spoken.

That shows how strong its name value is. Around next year, the legendary Imperial Hotel Kyoto is expected to open, and I saw advertising materials scattered around the hotel area. Since it was my birthday, they also did lettering and provided a Polaroid service.

Although its location is somewhat awkward being outside the city center, the shuttle bus runs continuously, making it very convenient. The Japanese set meal I had for breakfast is also one of the most famous Japanese restaurants in Osaka. The cherry blossom scenery around the hotel is beautiful too. Thank you.
