Review of traveling in Japan, Osaka
Pastel-colored memories in a warm-hearted land 🍡🍁🍜
For us, traveling to Osaka…
is not just another trip abroad, but a chance to touch a small dream that has been in our hearts for a very long time. A city full of colors, delicious food, kind people, and a warm feeling even in the chilly air 🍃
From the moment we stepped off the plane, the first feeling that embraced us was the authentic Japanese atmosphere. Everything looked cute and orderly—from the airport, trains, stations, to the people walking rhythmically.
It was like stepping into a scene straight out of an anime ☁️
When we arrived at the accommodation, just opening the window revealed a neatly arranged city view. We could hear trains passing by occasionally instead of the noisy traffic sounds we were used to. The feeling was… quiet but not lonely at all 🍃
Osaka = The city of food!! 🍙🍡
I must say, anyone who loves to eat will definitely fall in love with Osaka~
I myself am the kind of person who focuses more on eating than sightseeing on trips, haha, and Osaka is truly a paradise for people like me.
Starting with takoyaki, which must be eaten hot.
The aroma hits your nose even before you reach the shop. The round, soft balls filled with big pieces of squid without holding back, topped with dried bonito flakes that dance like they’re performing on the takoyaki. It’s a charm that words can’t fully describe 🐙
Next is okonomiyaki, or Japanese pizza, which includes cabbage, eggs, batter,
ham, and delicious sauce. I chose the classic style and added an extra fried egg on top. It’s a blissful experience that makes you want to close your eyes while chewing 🤤
While strolling through the city, you’ll see small dessert shops
selling red bean mochi, green tea daifuku, or Japanese crepes filled with fresh fruit and lots of whipped cream. You can eat while walking without ever getting bored 🍓🍰
Shopping in a world of cuteness 💸🐻
Osaka is a city that not only excels at food but also cleverly tempts us with the cuteness of its shops. Whether it’s Don Quijote,
where it’s hard to leave once you enter because there are so many items, cheap prices, and everything seems to be saying, “Buy me, pleaseee~” 😂
Shinsaibashi district is another place where I happily wandered around.
There are clothing stores, shoes, bags, knick-knack shops, cute cafes,
and even secondhand shops filled with hidden treasures. Walking there makes your wallet shake every 5 minutes (but your heart jumps every second~)
Lights, colors, and smiles at Dotonbori 🌈🎡
If Osaka is a stage play, Dotonbori is definitely the climax scene!
Whether it’s the Glico sign that everyone must take a photo with, or the canal reflecting the colorful neon signs, it feels like another world that brightens up at night.
I stood by the bridge watching people walk by—some tourists like me, some Japanese heading home, some with their lovers, some with friends. Everyone had smiles, and I couldn’t stop smiling either 🧡
The charm in the little details 🐾
One thing that made me fall deeply in love with Osaka is the attention to small details, like soft music playing in restrooms, trains that run exactly on time to the minute, or even the smile of the old man waving cars at the intersection 🍃
Even the stray cat basking in the sun beside the shrine looked happy in its own way. I secretly sat beside it and took a moment to rest my heart in the quietness of Japan 🐱
Adorable cafes that melt your heart 💕☕
Osaka has so many cute cafes that you never want to leave~ I found a shop decorated in pastel tones, filled with dolls and vintage knick-knacks. I ordered a small chiffon cake and light tea, then sat by the window watching the street outside. It was a simple but very special moment 🎀
Some cafes have dogs or cats, some are run by kind Japanese grandmas who don’t speak English well but communicate with smiles and heart. I almost hugged her 🥹
This kind of atmosphere makes you want to stop time…
Osaka isn’t a glamorous or overly luxurious city, nor is it a rushed, exhausting place. It’s a city that’s cute in its own way, a city that lets you walk slowly, breathe deeply, and feel grateful for deciding to come here.
And above all… it’s a city that makes us laugh with friends, eat snacks we’ve never tried before, get lost and find secret shops, sit and chat with cats, then look up at the stars in the big city sky 🌟
Osaka… thank you for making me fall for you so deeply I can’t get out of it 💙
⸻
If you who are reading this review are hesitating about going to Osaka… don’t think too long,
because sometimes, small happiness might be waiting for us at a street corner in Osaka, a lovely city that never forces anyone to love it but wins our hearts effortlessly 🍡🧳✨
