🏯 OSAKA TRAVEL REVIEW – “FOOD CITY” OF JAPAN

If Tokyo is modern, Kyoto is ancient, Osaka has a liberal, friendly and vibrant vibe. People call this place “kitchen of Japan” – a food paradise with countless delicious street foods.

✨ Where to go in Osaka?

Osaka Castle: A historical symbol, the cherry blossoms around the castle are super beautiful in spring.

Dotonbori: A neon street that is bright and bustling all night long – home to the legendary Glico Man sign.

Universal Studios Japan (USJ): A famous amusement park with Harry Potter, Minion, Super Nintendo World.

Kuromon Ichiba Market: A paradise of fresh seafood, sushi, wagyu and Japanese snacks.

Umeda Sky Building: Enjoy the panoramic view of Osaka from above, especially beautiful at sunset.

🍲 What to eat in Osaka?

Osaka is famous for 2 “soul foods”:

Takoyaki (grilled octopus balls) – hot, soft inside, crispy outside.

Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake) – cabbage, egg, meat/seafood, topped with fragrant sauce.

There are also Kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers), ramen, fresh sushi and wagyu melt-in-your-mouth.

🚆 Transportation

From Tokyo → Osaka: take Shinkansen (bullet train) for about 2.5 – 3 hours.

In the city: buy an ICOCA card, it’s very convenient to take the subway.

🎒 Small tips

Dotonbori should be visited at night to fully experience the excitement.

If you go to Universal Studios, you should buy tickets online in advance to avoid long lines.

Osaka is near Kyoto and Nara, you can combine them in 1–2 days.

👉 Osaka not only has beautiful scenery, but also has the most youthful, dynamic and "playful" vibe in the Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka triangle. A cute, approachable city, once you go there, you will always remember the hot Takoyaki flavor on the street corner. 🍡✨
